Faisalabad Customs Intelligence confiscates smuggled items worth Rs 22m in May

FAISALABAD: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation of Faisalabad and Field Investigation Unit of Khushab have seized smuggled items worth Rs 22.66 million involving duty/taxes Rs 12.69 million in May, 2015.

Following the instructions of Director of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Faisalabad, intelligence teams conducted various operations to curb the smuggling in the regions.

As per details, Customs Intelligence Faisalabad impounded 11 vehicles including Ranger Truck, Mazad Truck, Hundai Van, Toyota Hiace and other in May worth Rs 8.9 million.

Similarly, FIU Khushab impounded illegally imported vehicles including Toyota Hiace bearing Registration No. BQU-050, Toyot Hiace bearing Registration No. BQU-125, Hino Truck bearing Registration No. SGA-165 and others worth Rs 5.7 million involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 3.78 million in May, 2015.

MEANEHILE, Faisalabad Customs Intelligence and Investigation seized goods worth Rs 16.96 million involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 8.9 million.

Customs confiscated 1387 kilogram of film bopp rolls, 2187 kg of foreign origin toys, cloth, cumin seeds, generators of different capacity, phthalic anhydride, 80 cartons of black tea, cinnamon, printed cloth, 40 pieces ofLED TVs and other items during said period.

Anit-smuggling operations were conducted by intelligence team under the supervision of Supridents Muhammad Tahir and Muhammad Saeed khan following the instruction of director of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Faisalabad.

Customs raided different areas in May including Sheikh Pura Road, Smundri Road, Jhang Road, Faisalabad Motorway, Sargodha Road and others.
