The value of the smuggled car is Rs2.5million and the taxable customs duty on the vehicle is almost Rs2million. Intelligence Officer Irsha Ali, Mansoor Nasir and other constables impounded the car during the execution of an operation.

The Customs Intelligence staff asked the driver to show any documentary evidence of the legal import and lawful possession of the vehicle but he failed to prove the genuineness of the car. The Customs Intelligence and Investigation Faisalabad has taken into possession the BMW car under Section 157 (2) of the Customs Act-1969 as, after a considerable fall of time, no one appeared to claim the ownership of the impounded vehicle.

A seizure report has been lodged and an investigation is underway.
