Faisalabad Customs Intelligence seizes items worth Rs 5.8m

FAISALABAD: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation has registered six cases and confiscated smuggled items worth Rs 8.465 million involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 5.886 million during third week of February, 2016.

Following the instructions of Additional Director Azmat Tahira, the Customs Intelligence conducted various anti-smuggling operations in the region. Toyota Crown car bearing No. LOV-3870 worth Rs 1.2, used generator with capacity of 400 KVA worth Rs 4.16, 1,150 kilograms of fabrics worth Rs 600,000, 24 bundles of cloth worth Rs 625,000, Toyota Citz car No. FG-418 worth Rs 1 million and other miscellaneous goods worth Rs 880,430 were impounded during the said peiod.

The Intelligence team comprising Senior Intelligence Officer Zahid Saleem Mirza, Intelligence Officer Muhammad Yousaf, Farzand Ali, Sepoys Tajamal Hussain and Muhammad Musaddiq Ahmad confiscated the items after the owners failed to produce documents regarding legal import of the items.
