Faisalabad Customs Intelligence seizes smuggled items worth Rs 11.2 million

FAISALABAD: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation confiscated smuggled items worth Rs 11.22 million involving duty/taxes to the tune of Rs 7.98 million during the first 15 days of December, 2015.

The intelligence impounded non-duty paid vehicles and other vehicles that were used for the transportation of smuggled items worth Rs 1.8 million.

As per the details, a foreign origin generator of 150-KVA capacity worth Rs 2 million, Hino Truck bearing Registration No. TKB-370 worth Rs 2.5 million, a generator of 15-KVA capacity worth Rs 200,000, 8256 kilogram of cotton cloth for bed sheets, curtain clot and other type of cloth worth Rs 1.73 millio, another generator of 20-KVA capacity worth Rs 220,000 and printed cloth worth Rs 360,000 were seized during the said period.

Meanwhile, the Khushab Field Investigation Unit (FIU) impounded a Hino Ranger Truck bearing Registration No. SBA- 824 worth Rs 3 million involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 1.708 million and a Toyota Fielder bearing No. BT-941 worth Rs 1.2 million involving duty/taxes of Rs 856,176.

However, the investigation reports have been submitted to the adjudication department for further legal action against smuggling.
