Faisalabad Customs registers 124 cases, seizes smuggled items worth Rs 111m in six months

FAISALABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate registered 124 cases of smuggling and confiscated smuggled items worth Rs 111.05 million during the first six months of current fiscal year 2015-16.

Officials said that the Faisalabad Customs was showing exceptional performance since the appointment of Collector Dr. Zulafiqar Ali Chaudhar who has improved the environment of all departments.

They added that it made 46 cases of vehicle seizure cases involving Rs 34.15 million and seized contraband goods worth Rs 76.9 million in 78 cases during the said period.

The officials of Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) confiscated the smuggled items from Faisalabad, Sargodha, Mianwali, Sara-e-Muhajir, and Jhang.
