Faisalabad Customs seizes consignment worth Rs 1.5 million

FAISALABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate Appraisement has confiscated a consignment worth Rs 1.519 involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 788,466 as it was imported through mis-declaration.

As per details, Examination Deputy Superintendent Anwar Perwaiz, Inspector Shafiq Ahmed Baig and Syed Shahzad Ali seized the consignment consisting of suit cases, front cabinet for TV, 98 cartons of jug used for blender, 330 cartons of cell phone chargers, 45 cartons of landline telephone sets, 200 cartons of porcelain tiles and other items.

Sources told Customs Today That M/s M Shazad Enterprises Faisalabad had imported different consignment from China and UAE by mis-declaring their description on the transshipment documents. They added that the officials of the Customs Appraisement now have held the container from Faisalabad Dry Port after finding it mis-declared.

The seizure report along with all relevant documents has been submitted to the Collectorate of Customs Adjudication for further investigations.
