Faisalabad Customs seizes smuggled goods worth Rs 0.5m

FAISALABAD: The Customs Intelligence has recovered 1,000 kilograms of foreign origin red chilly seeds and auto parts worth Rs 0.5 million during a crackdown.

Sources informed Customs Today that Additional Director Azmat Tahira received credible information about some smuggling attempts. She formed a raiding team comprising Asghar Mehdi Naqvi (IO ) and Zulfiqar Ali Awan and Shoukat Hayat. The Customs team intercepted a Mazda truck bearing registration No FSD- 1189 loaded with smuggled goods near New Truck Stand Jhang Road and recovered smuggled red chilly seeds and auto parts. The customs team asked accused persons who were identified as Nusrat Iqbal, Muhammad Sajid and Muhammad Shafique to produce legal documents regarding possession of loaded goods, but they failed to provide any relevant documents in this regard.
