Faisalabad Excise collects Rs 939m in four months

FAISALABAD: The Excise and Taxation has achieved 40 percent of its assigned target, which is Rs 2322.61 million for the fiscal year 2015-16, as it has collected Rs 939.913 million during first four months (July-October).

The Faisalabad Excise covers four districts including Faisalabad City, Jhang, Chiniot and Toba Tek Singh.

As per details, it has generated Rs 780.10 million from Faisalabad district by achieving set target of Rs 1881.16 million for a year, marking 47 percent growth. The Jhang region has collected Rs 54.893 million, achieving 33 percent of the target Rs 168.63 million.

On the other hand, the excise has collected Rs 34.95 million from Chiniot against the target of Rs 93.95 million for the year, achieving 27 percent, while from Toba Tek Singh, it has been generated Rs 69.96 million against the target of Rs 178.86 million target, marking 39 percent achievement.

Under the head of property tax, the Faisalabad Excise collected Rs 564.14 million against the yearly target of Rs 1151.46 million, showing 49 percent growth to meet the target.

It has achieved almost 30 percent target of excise duty that is Rs 85.78 million by collecting Rs 25.64 million during the said period. The department has also collected Rs 3.98 million as entertainment duty and achieved 52 percent of the set target that is Rs 7.65 million.

In the wake of cotton fee, the region has collected Rs 7.36 million against the target of Rs 23.3 million and achieved 32 percent of the target, while it has generated Rs 28.66 million with 34 percent achievement against the target of Rs 84.11 million.

However, the motor branch that is responsible to collect tax from vehicles’ owners under different heads including token tax, registration fee, transfer fee and others, has collected Rs 240.4 million against the target of Rs 645.43 million during four months and achieved 37 percent of total set target. The department has also collected Rs 60 million in wake of different categories.
