LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has urged the government to suspend trade between Pakistan and India to facilitate the local farmers.

This was stated by PTI Punjab Organiser Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar, while talking to media at the farmers’ sit-in outside Punjab Assembly. He said that the government’s anti-farmer policies were even more dangerous than country’s external enemies.

Former Punjab governor said that the PML-N must keep it in mind that farmers would not take their land to London, USA or get money against it for the Swiss banks. He demanded that farmers’ problems immediately be resolved and fake cases registered against them be withdrawn. Sarwar said rulers needed to revisit their “wrong” priorities and the hefty amount of over Rs100 billion spent on the metro bus could have solved the farmers issues.

He regretted that PML-N government had no mission to help and protect farmers and poor people and is squeezing their last drop of blood with price hikes, taxes etc.

Kissan Ittehad Pakistan president Khalid Khokhar, PTI Punjab spokesman Jamshed Iqbal Cheema and large number of farmers were present on the occasion. Former Punjab governor said the PTI fully supported farmers’ demands and would participate in their protests across the country.
