FBR asked to reduce rate of ST and extended period of four years

LAHORE: Trades have urged Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to reduce rate of sales tax and extended period of four years besides tax in electricity bills abolished. The traders have demanded that the small traders be consulted in the implementing fixed tax.

The said that the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) should reduce the x tax rate and the period extended up to 4 years. Traders of Circular Road said that fix tax is like the loly pop for the small traders.

APMA president Zeshan Sohail said that FBR must have to remove sales and income tax on the electricity bills and then fix the tax.

In this connection, the traders held a meeting in which the traders of Bano Market, Paris Market and Khanum Bazar traders participated. They urged the government don’t push the traders to the wall instead the traders must be consulted.

Trader leader Naeem Mir said that the Lahore chamber pledged to play a central in resolving the issue but it neither proved itself a bridge between the traders nor joined traders strikes.

He said that the chamber must have explain its position as to whom it is standing with: small traders or the government.
