FBR assure traders to clear refund claims upto Rs 5m till March 31st

ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) high-ups assures businessmen that all necessary measures are already adopted to clear refund claims of Rs 5 million till March 31st, 2016.

Sources of FBR informed Customs Today that a delegation of businessmen which includes General Secretary of United Business Group Zubair Taufail, Chairman Pakistan Tanners Association Gulzar Feroz, Shafi Nasim held a meeting with FBR Member Sales Tax Rehmatullah Wazir and Member Customs Nasir Masroor Ahmad. The delegation was led by CEO TDAP S.M. Muneer.

Speaking on the occasion CEO TDAP said that exporters should adopt measures to enhance exports of the country  because country’s exports are decreasing day by day. He said that besides other reason, payment of rebate to exporters is also a main reason behind decrease in exports. He informed the participants of the meeting that there is 14 percent decrease in exports of Pakistan.

Zubair Tufail said that majority of exporters are worried because FBR is not clearing their refund despite passage of marginable time. He said Chairman FBR Nisar Mohammad said already assured the exporers that their refund claims will be cleared by March 15.
