TRC body seeks suggestions to review administrative structure of FBR, taxpayers services

KARACHI: The Sub-Committee of the Tax Reforms Commission-FBR has asked officials to submit their suggestions that may help to review the administrative structure of the FBR and taxpayers’ services.

Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar had formed the Tax Reforms Commission (TRC). The inaugural meeting of the commission was held on October 18, 2014. The second meeting was held on December 15 and 16, 2014. The TRC chairman had formed a sub-committee and Abid H Shaban was made the convener.

Shaban asked the FBR employees to submit suggestions until January 15. He also said one of the important tasks given to the TRC was to review the administrative structure of the FBR and taxpayers services.

Shaban asked the FBR officials to submit any constructive suggestion they may have. The suggestions could pertain to issues related to administrative structure that would result in contributing to the economy and tax collection; changes in the current set up which would result in the efficiency of workflow/process; changes directly increasing effectiveness of FBR operation at field or FBR level and suggestion that would lead to better taxpayer services.
