Chairman FBR holds press moot on important issues today

FBR chairman gives hearing to Grade-20 transferred officer

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Federal Board of Revenue Dr. Muhammad Irshad has given a personal hearing to a Grade-20 Officer of Pakistan Customs Group, presently appointed at the Directorate General Headquarters as Director Post Clearance Audit Dr. Kamal Azhar Minhas.

The chairman FBR has called him on Tuesday (11th April) at the Federal Board of Revenue. It is pertinent to mention here that the board had transferred and posted him as Director General of Input-Output Co-Efficient Organization (IOCO) Karachi through a notification No. 0715-C-1/2017 but Dr. Kamal Azhar Minhas had refused to leave the current charge. Dr. Kamal Azhar will present his point of view to the Chairman FBR and will explain him the reason behind the decision of not to leave the charge of current posting.

It is important to mention here that Board had decided to initiate a disciplinary action against him but Chairman Federal Board of Revenue halted the decision of the board and decided to give him an opportunity to explain the matter before the Federal Board of Revenue.

On 3rd March 2017 Secretary Management Customs Jameel Ahmed Baloch, on the direction of the Board, again issued a notification No. 0786-C-1/2017 and said the officer of Pakistan Customs Group services transferred and posted vide board notification No. . 0715-C-1/2017 shall stand relieved with immediate effect to join their new places of posting.

According to sources, Director Post Clearance Audit Dr. Kamal Azhar Minhas had appealed the Chairman FBR against the 2nd notification for personal hearing which had been accepted by the chairman.
