FBR Chairman Nisar demotes two former principal appraisers

KARACHI: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Nisar Muhammad Khan, by using his discretionary powers, has demoted two former principal appraisers by converting major penalty of ‘dismissal from service’ into ‘reduction to lower ranks’.

In a notification issued on Monday, it said that on a departmental appeal filed by Sadar Amin Farooqui, ex-principal appraiser, Customs Collectorate of Exports Karachi and Naimatullah Alvi, ex-principal appraiser, Customs Collectorate of Preventive Karachi against major penalty of ‘dismissal from service’, the FBR chairman in his capacity as the Appellate Authority has convert the major penalty of ‘dismissal from service’ into another major penalty of ‘reduction to lower stage in time scale’ (two stages lower).
