It is important to mention here that the inquiry committee, comprising Lubna Farrukh Mirza (IRS BS 21), then Chief Commissioner IR RTO II Karachi and Syed Ayaz Mehmood (IRS BS 21), was constituted to conduct an inquiry into the allegations.

The committee had submitted an inquiry report mentioning that the officer violated the service rules. After having examined the inquiry report, case record and verbal submissions of the accused officer, the Authorized Officer Member Administration found the accused officer guilty of the charge of inefficiency. It is also important to mention here that the Central Selection Board gave the recommendation for promotion of the officers in next grade but his name was dropped by the Federal Board of Revenue.

Muhammad Mustafa Kamal appeared before the Chairman FBR and thanked him to grant an opportunity of personal hearing and explained his point of view regarding the allegations levelled against him. He denied the allegations and requested the chairman for dropping the charges.

The chairman decided to consult the Member Admin and, after reviewing the case, will pass the final order on the personal hearing.
