KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has completed scrutinizing of differential subsidy claims submitted by power distribution companies. The scrutinizing process was started from December, 2015. During the scrutinizing, it was revealed that the amount of sales tax is not included in the amount of differential subsidy claims.
Sources informed Customs Today that the FBR forwarded details of these claims to Inland Revenue Operations Department with directions to determine whether sales tax amount is included in net amount or not. Sources said that outstanding amount against power distribution companies falls in billions.
Sources said that FBR is going to issue them notices in which they will warn of strict action in case these companies will fail to clear outstanding tax amount.
