FBR declares 322 companies as blacklist in 9 months

KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) declared 322 companies as blacklist during July-March of current fiscal year 2015-16.

Sources said that Regional Tax Office-I, II and III provided all information to FBR Headquarters related to the companies those have not filed the tax returns during the said period. During investigation, it was also found that many companies out of 322 were fake and involved in taking refunds falsely.

Most of the blacklisted companies are in Karachi, while remaining are located in Hyderabad, Mirpur Khas, Thatta and others, they said, adding that the FBR has decided to take stern action against the tax defaulter companies.

It may mention here that the FBR put the name of 800 companies on blacklist, which were involved tax evasion.
