ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has deployed its officers in the premises of Pakistan Packages Limited over suspected tax evasion.

The deputed officers (Inspectors) would monitor the production of goods and count the inventory. The FBR officials said that the inspectors were deployed under Section 38 of the Sales Tax Act 1990. It gives officers free access to business and manufacturing premises, registered office or any other place where any stocks, business records or documents are kept. The Board’s officials termed the move as a routine exercise.
