FBR directs collectors to cancel leaves of ASO, Customs Intelligence officials until August 20

SIALKOT: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has cancelled the leaves of all staff of the Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) and Customs Intelligence and Investigation Department till August 20, 2016 to curb smuggling under Kashmir, Iran, China and Afghanistan trade from the country.

Sources told Customs Today that the ASO campaign is continuing in the country which was started by the FBR. The Customs Intelligence and Investigation is performing its duties day and night to foil smuggling and fruitful results are observing day by day.

Sources told that have cancelled the leave of because of the rampant smuggling of Indian, Iranian, China and Afghan goods. The FBR has taken strict note of the smuggling and has directed all customs collectors and deputy directors to alert the ASO and Customs Intelligence staff to curb smuggling. The leaves of the officials are cancelled under this context, sources said.

Customs Collectorate Sialkot Ahmed Reza Khan has already alert ASO to curb smuggling whereas he has cancelled the leave of all ASO staff till above said date. Inspector Syed Majid Raza told that the all staff has been alerted by deputy director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Gujranwala Region Zainab Mehmood whereas leave of staff has already been cancelled. The orders of deputy director and Superintendent Muhammad Farooq is checking the performance of field staff every day and send report to Deputy Director as per routine.
