FBR directs Customs to conduct audit of consignments cleared under SRO1125

KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has directed customs authorities to conduct audit of imported consignments which were cleared under SRO1125.

Sources told Customs Today that the FBR directed customs authorities that importers of textile, leather, carpets, surgical and sports, who have taken benefits under SRO1125 for the clearance of their consignments, must be investigated.

Sources further revealed that the authorities will determine whether these consignments were cleared through legal procedure or by using fake documents. The audit of the cleared consignments will be conducted under the supervision of additional collator.
