FBR directs field formations to ensure proper record-keeping & reconciliation

ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has directed the field formations to ensure proper record-keeping and reconciliation between import general manifesto, seizure register, detain register and auction lots of each entry of confiscated goods and vehicles.

FBR has also issued instructions to field formations for proper monitoring and taking appropriate action under the law against persons at fault and involved in record tempering.

Sources told that FBR issued instructions to field offices for ensuring strict compliance of policy relating to utilization of tampered vehicles only to avoid deterioration of auction durable and non-duty paid confiscated goods. FBR also directed the field formations for early disposal of the confiscated goods and ensuring clearance of unclaimed import general manifests.

Federal Board of Revenue directed field formations to expedite recovery of government revenue and ensure timely deposit of collected government dues and ensure use of powers as per law. FBR issued instructions to field formations for compliance of customs rules during disposal of imported confiscated goods.

FBR suggested to Customs field offices to develop an efficient system to assess the bids offered against the auction-able things keeping in view physical condition of lots at the time of auction.
