FBR directs to recover advance tax from Airblue, Distribution Services (Pvt) Ltd & Mehran University

ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has directed field formations to expedite the process of recovery of advance tax from 413 tax defaulters including Airblue, Distribution Services Private Limited and Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro.

Official sources told Customs Today that FBR has to collect Rs1.821 billion from 413 taxpayers under the head of advance taxes; however, the field formations have only collected Rs 53 million.

Meanwhile, the board also directed the chief commissioners concerned to take stern action against the responsible officers who are failed to collect the advance tax timely.

Sources also told that Airblue with NTN No. 1751747 have to pay Rs69.6 million, Distribution Services Private Limited Rs100 million and Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro is defaulter of Rs20.1 million in the head of advance tax for the previous fiscal year.

Sources said that the board has showed concerns over the low recovery of field formations and directed the competent authorities concerned in the field formations to collect the advance taxes from the defaulters.
