FBR exempts SMEs, export sectors from recently imposed regulatory duty

ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has exempted small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and export-oriented units from paying regulatory duty levied through SRO 1035(I)/2017 on import of raw material and machinery.

The FBR issued a list of 731 items for the imposition of regulatory duty ranging from 2 to 80 percent. Sources in the FBR said that through the SRO imports under Small and Medium Enterprises and Export Oriented Units Rules, 2008.
