FBR, GIZ meeting held to review ‘Support to Good Governance’ programme

ISLAMABAD: The meeting of steering committee of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on ‘Support for Good Governance –  Result Area Taxation’ was held at the FBR House.

The meeting was presided over by FBR Chairman Tariq Bajwa. During the meeting, progress was also reviewed on GIZ, which is initiated through the support of Germany.

The meeting was also attended by IR Policy Member Shahid Hussain Asad, Customs and Strategic Planning Member Nisar Muhammad Khan and Dot DG/HRH Member Sumaria Yasmeen.

The FBR is working on five different packages of taxation with the help of Germany. These five issues are to promote FBR’s organisational development, strengthen FBR tax administration’s efficiency, promote FBR’s public relations, promote dialogue between the FBR and customers and draft the tax policy on the basis of facts.

The next meeting of the FBR and GIZ officials will be held in August in which planning workshops will be held.
