FBR holds awareness session regarding filing income tax returns

FAISALABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and divisional management jointly have organised an awareness session here at Commissioner Office for filing income tax returns by the heads of divisional and district government departments.

Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue FBR Faisalabad Ch Muhammad Tariq, Commissioner Faisalabad Division Asif Iqbal Chaudhry, RPO Ghulam Mahmood Dogar, Deputy Commissioner Sardar Saifullah Dogar, CPO Ashfaq Ahmed Khan and officers of different department attended the seminar.

FBR Inland Revenue Chief Commissioner Chaudhry Muhammad Tariq said that filing annual income tax returns for every government employee drawing annual salary of Rs 400,000 or more is essential and last date is December 15.

The aim of holding the session was to provide awareness to income tax payers about benefits of filing returns, he said.

The Chief Commissioner said that FBR had set up 14 facilitation centers across the Faisalabad division, where FBR officials were providing necessary guidance and information about filing of income tax returns to government employees and other tax payers.

He said the FBR had launched awareness campaign first time for increasing the number of filers and in this regard, 50,000 pamphlets had been distributed among citizens besides advertisement through SMS and other media.
