FBR imposes ‘minor penalty’ on Customs Preventive’s inspector

KARACHI: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has imposed a minor penalty on Model Custom Collectorate Preventive inspector for the absence from his duty.

According to the official letter, whereas disciplinary proceedings under Government Servants (Efficeincy & Discipline) Rules, 1973 were initiated against Inspector Abrar Ahmed on account of his unauthorized absence from duty constituting misconduct.

The accused officer was served a show cause notice dated October 5, 2015 in terms of Rule 2(4) and Rule 3(b) of the Government Servants (Efficiency & Discipline) Rules, 1973 and he submitted his defence reply dated October 20, 2015. He was also given personal hearing by the authorized officer on November 25, 2015.

The authorized officer after having examined all aspects of the case has therefore imposed the minor penalty of censure upon Abrar Ahmed. His unauthorized absence from duty for 78 days from July 26, 2015 to October 11, 2015 is treated as “Extra Ordinary Leave” without pay. His performance allowance shall be stopped for 6 months from the date of award of penalty.
