FBR issues notices of Rs14b to 240,000 tax defaulters

LAHORE: Federal Board of Revenue has issued notices of Rs 14 billion to 240,000 people to submit their income tax returns.

According to sources Federal Board of Revenue has seized 117 vehicles of tax defaulters as they have big bank statements but do not file returns. FBR has frozen bank accounts of 278 tax defaulters, along with that Board has got record of mobile phone from mobile operator companies of number of people. FBR has also got record of those people who are paying heavy school fee of their children but paying nothing to the national asset. According to sources FBR has got issuance of arrest warrants of 40 defaulters.
