FBR Member Ali Salman visits Lahore RTOs to review performance

LAHORE: Federal Board of Revenue Member Enforcement and Withholding Tax (WHT) Ali Salman Abbasi on Thursday visited the Regional Tax Offices (RTOs) Lahore and held a meeting with the WHT commissioner regarding performance.

Sources said that RTO-I Commissioner WHT Captain Jehangir and RTO-II Commissioner WHT Asim Jehangir and other officials of LTU and RTOs Lahore held a meeting. They added that the performance of the regional offices was discussed regarding the tax collections. Mr Abbasi showed satisfaction over the performance of the officers and directed them to attain the set target of the fiscal year 2014-15, the sources said.

The data obtained from field formation regarding the enforcement activities, including data of withholding taxes, arrears, etc remained under consideration during the meeting. They discussed different strategies to bring efficiency in the department to meet the second quarter target of the current fiscal year. Sources also said that member has given instruction to officers to highlight the defaulters and non-filer of WHT statements.

It is important to mention that Regional Tax office II Lahore Withholding Tax (WHT) Wing has attained 95 percent revenue of the set target during November of current fiscal year.
