FBR, PRA to ink accord for sharing customs data

LAHORE: The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) will be provided customs data by the Federal Board of Revenue for the input adjustment after both departments will reach an agreement in the near future.

Chairman PRA Raheel Ahmad Sidique said this while giving a briefing to Provincial Minister for Finance Ayesha Ghaus Pasha on a monthly performance on the other day.

He said that a substantial increase has also been made in the collection of withholding tax.

Moreover, the formula of the Punjab Infrastructure Cess receipt has also been devised. He said the complaints of traders regarding the double tax are being considered. He said that after beauty parlours, more luxury services are being brought under the tax net.

Giving a briefing on the Restaurant Invoice Monitoring System, Raheel Ahmad Siddique informed Ayesha Ghaus Pasha that in the wake of increase of 28 percent tax receipts, the RIMS is also being introduced in Faisalabad which will be launched formally in the city in the second week of January.

The minister gave instructions to the authority members regarding the setup of the offices at distract level and expansion of tax net and ensured all-out cooperation of the finance department in this regard.
