FBR recovers Rs 10.03m from companies involved in tax evasion

KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) recovered an amount of Rs 10.03 million from three companies which were involved in tax evasion.

Sources informed Customs Today that the Regional Tax Office-II (RTO-II) issued notices to these companies to clear outstanding tax amount at the earliest otherwise stern action will be taken against these companies. Notices were issued to Zobia Textile and Export, Inzamam and Sons (Private) Limited and Nimra Furqan Chemicals.

Sources said that after receiving these notices, Zobia Textile deposited Rs 3.2 million, Inzamam Textile Rs 4.5 million and Nimra Furqan deposited Rs 2.5 million under the head of sales tax.

Sources said RTO-II issued tax recovery notices to 60 companies during the month of March and April reminding them to clear outstanding tax amount.
