FBR recovers Rs120m from Mian Anjum Nisar & his two brothers as super tax

ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) recovered Rs120 million from caretaker Provincial Minister for Industry, Trade & Investment, Irrigation Mian Anjum Nisar and his two brothers namely Mian Sohail Nisar and Mian Nadeem Nisar.

Official sources told Customs Today that the amount is recovered from his account under the head of super tax. Mian Anjum Nisar was defaulter of Rs15 million.

Meanwhile the board has also recovered Rs110 million from two brothers of caretaker provincial minister namely Sohail Nisar and Nadeem Nisar as they were also defaulter of super tax sources added.

It is important to mention here that Mian Anjum Nisar and his two brothers were defaulters of super tax and they were failed to pay this amount.

Moreover, super tax was imposed in 2015 for rehabilitation of internally displaced persons. It was continued in 2016 and 2017. Various organizations have demanded its abolition to reduce the effective tax rate. It is currently being charged at 4 percent on banking companies & 3 percent on non-banking companies having income greater than Rs500 million
