FBR revenue increases by 8pc despite Imran, Qadri marches

ISLAMABAD: The tax collection of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has not affected by current political turmoil due to Imran and Qadri’s marches which cost Rs450 billion losses to economy of Pakistan in last few days.

As per details, FBR has managed to collect Rs79 billion of revenue in current month till August 18 with an increase of 8 per cent as last year FBR had collected Rs72 billion in the same period.

The FBR sources told Customs Today that sales tax collection has increased by 55 per cent, customs duty 66 per cent as customs had collected Rs12 billion customs duty till now which is more than last year’s collection of Rs7 billion during same period.

Moreover, sources said that FBR has been expecting 12-13 per cent increase in revenue collection this month.
