LAHORE: The Regional Tax Office (RTO) of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has seized record of famous brand of women cloth Elan for sales tax evasion of Rs 50 million.
Sources told Customs Today that the brand is owned by creative director Khadija Shah, daughter of former caretaker federal minster minister Salman Shah. The record has been seized by Commissioner Sadaf Gillani Lahore region.
It was reported that earlier the brand outlet was seized but the court extended relief to the brand as the lawyer of the brand was able to convince that the office that seized the record had no jurisdiction over the outlet.
However, the chief commissioner changing the jurisdiction has order the concerned office to initiate operation against the accused party, it was added.
