FBR sends recommendations for promotion of customs officers to PM’s Secretariat

KARACHI: The Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has completed its working regarding the promotion cases of Customs officers belonging to Grades-BS 19, BS-20 and BS-21 and forwarded its final recommendations to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat for approval, it is learnt.

Sources revealed that the DPC held four meetings at the FBR Headquarters in which it reviewed the promotion cases of 28 customs officers belonging to Grade BS-19 and BS-20 as per their performance on the basis of their Annual Credential Reports (ACRs) and their disclosed assets.

The sources further informed Customs Today that the DPC has finalised 13 officers belonging to Grade BS-20 which would have to promote to next cadre i.e. BS-21.

The names include Fazal Yazdani, Sarwat Tahir Habib, Javed Ghani, Sumera Nazir, Abdul Rasheed Shaikh, Adila Rehman, Zahid Khokhar, Junaid Akram, Khawaja Umer Mehdi, Rubina Wasti, Imtiaz Ahmad Khan, Saleem Rahanja and Shoukat Ali.

The 15 officers belonging to Grade BS-19 would also get promotion to the next cadre i.e. BS-20 and one officer of BS-21 Director General of Customs Intelligence and Investigation-FBR would also recommended by the DPC for promoting into next cadre i.e. BS-22.

“The final notification regarding the promotion of aforementioned officers of Pakistan Customs would be issued after the approval of Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif”, sources added.
