LAHORE: The Federal Board of Revenue has started auditing assets of film actress Noor and sought details of her accounts from banks.
Sources said that the FBR has started audit of the actress’ income tax returns from fiscal year 2013-14. They further said that in year 2013, the actress had over Rs10 million amount in her account of Bank Alflah’s Z Block branch, which was not declared to the tax authority. She had Rs29.6 million in her bank account during year 2014, they added.
Last year, the FBR had also issued a notice to Noor for alleged tax evasion as she had failed to submit income tax returns during the tax year 2015-16. The tax recovery notice was issued under Section 122(5)(A) of the Income Tax Ordinance 2001.
