FBR to create special cell to review officials output

KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has decided to establish a special cell which will conduct internal audit and review overall performance of the officials. This cell will keep an eye on officials who are leading a luxurious life but a practical steps in this regard is still awaited.

Sources in the FBR told Customs Today that Federal Tax Ombudsman has asked the FBR authorities to create a special cell which will keep an eye on corrupt officials of the department, as it has been brought in the notice of the authorities that some officials of the FBR are leading luxurious lives despite having limited income. They are also used to visit foreign countries with their families every year.
