FBR to introduce laws for audit of tax statements

SIALKOT: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has forwarded a draft for approval to the Law Division for audit of income tax, sales tax and federal excise duty filed by the taxpayers.

Sources told Customs Today that after approval of the draft, a notification will be issued. On the other hand, the FBR has sought suggestions from stakeholders within seven days to finalize the audit law.

It is pertinent to mention here that the FBR formed these rules on the directions of the court because the court summoned the FBR authorities and demanded explanation why the board had not introduced the said rules.
