KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has decided to launch a crackdown against ghost employees to ensure 100 percent attendance at the Regional Tax Offices (RTOs).
Sources told Customs Today that the RTOs have been instructed by the board to furnish a detailed list of ghost employees so that disciplinary actions could be initiated against them.
Lubna Farukh Mirza, the newly appointed Chief Commissioner RTO-III, has issued a circular number: 6(98) S (B16)/2013-14, asking the departments concerned to furnish details. Apart from Lubna, Additional Commissioner (HQs) Sanaullah Nawazani  is also behind the drive, sources added.
Sources said a record is being maintained out of six zones apart from making list of ghost employees to trace such staff. It is the first instance in a decade on front of crackdown against ghost employees.
