FBR  to place names of tax defaulters on Exit Control List

KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) considering taking various measure to collect outstanding tax amount of Rs 120 billion from tax defaulters. To streamline this process, the FBR is working on a summary to place the names of tax defaulters on the Exit Control List.

Well informed sources of FBR told this correspondent that there are sufficient number of persons who have tax time but did not pay tax willfully. FBR sources shortlisted some 22 lakh people who are not paying tax despite having sufficient income. FBR is also taking major steps to bring more people under tax net.
