KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is taking strict measures to achieve the target of extra Rs 10 billion from those who are not paying tax wilfully.
For this purpose, the FBR authorities concerned are planning to send notices to 100,000 tax defaulters during the first week of the next month. Sources further said that during the current fiscal year, notices have already been sent to 116,000 individuals who have income to pay tax but were not paying tax.
Sources revealed that a monitoring system is being established, which will check the outcome of notices. Sources are confident that through these measures, an extra amount of Rs 8 billion to Rs 10 billion tax would be collected. They are optimistic about achieving the revenue target.
