Complains could be registered against tax authorities on the application of taxpayers, he added.

“Anyone who feels that injustice has been done to him can approach the Federal Tax Ombudsman Department. As many as 1,450 complaints are decided every year,” Federal Tax Ombudsman Adviser Muhammad Siddique. He said that the Federal Tax Ombudsman was a role model according to the Transparency International.

The business community demanded that the federal tax ombudsman eliminate tax complications because taxpayers were the main stakeholder in the formulation of tax policies.
