FIA arrests 17 human traffickers in Gujranwala

SIALKOT: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested as many as 17 human traffickers wanted by the FIA in several cases of human smuggling through their travel agencies and private educational consultancies in Gujranwala Division.

The FIA launched crackdown in Gujranwala Division’s all the six Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahaud Din, Hafizabad and Gujranwala districts.

Regional Deputy Director FIA Gujranwala Ch. Khalid Anees told that as many as six main teams of FIA raided at various places and arrested the accused indulged in illegal business of sending the innocent people abroad especially to European and Gulf countries after extorting big amounts  from them by showing them the golden dreams of their lucid future in abroad.

He revealed that a team of FIA arrested as many as three accused human traffickers Khawaja Najam, Nadeem and Shafiq from Sialkot, allegedly involved in sending the innocent people abroad especially European and Gulf countries illegally by extorting  huge amounts from them after showing them the golden dreams of their lucid future in abroad.

FIA team led by Inspector Sajjad Bajwa raided the travel agency of the above-mentioned accused located at the Sialkot city’s congested Shahabpura locality here today. FIA also recovered as many as 20 passports, fake stamps, embossing stamps and fake documents of different embassies from there.

He said that the FIA has also arrested some other accused indulged in the illegal business of the money exchange. He said FIA has sent the accused behind the bars after registering separate cases against them. Further investigations were underway, in this regard.
