FIA arrests another suspect in Rs 330 financial scam

SIALKOT: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested another accused Javaid Iqbal,  stated to be the right hand of a Daska-based Haji Muhammad Akram, involved in Rs 330 million financial scam.

According to Ch Khalid Anees, deputy director FIA Gujranwala Division, Javaid Iqbal was also directly or indirectly involved in this financial scam and was also the right hand of the Haji Muhammad Akram.

He added that the FIA had already arrested as many as eight accused including main accused Haji Muhammad Akram Mughal and his wife in Rs 330 million financial scam, in this regard.

He said that as many as 400 passports have already been returned back to the victims of this scam belonging to Daska, Sambrial, Uggoki, Sialkot, Chawinda, Badiana, Pasrur and surrounding areas.

In 2014, a Daska based travel agent Haji Muhammad Akram Mughal, owner of the Nimra International Travel Agency Daska, had plundered as many as Rs 330 million from the hundreds of the local people by offering them the Sasta Umrah Packages.

FIA had arrested the main accused Haji Muhammad Akram Mughal from Saudi Arabia with the help of Interpol and the local court had sent him to jail on two-week long judicial remand in as many as 55 separate cases registered against him by the FIA, in this regard.
