SIALKOT: FIA arrests three involved in gas, electricity theft

SIALKOT: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has sealed a garments manufacturing factory in Sialkot after detecting years-long pilferage of gas and electricity by this factory, located in the city’s congested Mujahid Road locality.

The FIA has also arrested the two accused owners of the factory, Aftab and Zeeshan, who had been stealing gas while laying an illegal underground main gas supply pipeline there, besides stealing electricity by tampering with the electrical meters there.

The FIA also sealed a CNG filling station near Bheello Mahaar, Daska, along the main Daska-Sialkot Road, on the charges of gas pilferage. According to FIA officials, the accused owner of this CNG station, Faisal Shah, was involved in stealing gas from the main gas supply line by illegally laying an underground gas pipeline to this CNG station for the last several years.

The FIA has registered separate cases against the accused and sent them behind the bars. Further investigation is underway.
