FIA arrests two illegal money changers from Lahore

LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) has arrested two illegal money changers from Shah Alami area of Lahore. The FIA team also recovered Rs 934,000 from their custody.

Sources told Customs Today that the FIA received credible information that some illegal money changers are operating in the area. The FIA team constituted a raiding team which arrested two suspects identified as Shams Ullah and Gul Zareen.

Both the accused admitted that are doing business of “hundi” and use to send and receive money from Afghanistan and other countries. Sources said that the FIA also arrested one human trafficker from Sialkot. The accused name is Akmal and he used to send people abroad via sea route. The sources said that he was charging Rs 500,000 to Rs 700,00 from each person to send him abroad.
