FIA team arrests five land route agents

LAHORE: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Gujranwala on Thursday conducted raids in various areas and arrested five land route agents.

According to a spokesman, an FIA team conducted a raid and arrested one Bashir Ahmad, a resident of Bassawa, district Mandi Bahauddin. The accused was involved in abduction for ransom of an immigrant. The accused had received 260,000.

The team also arrested other land route agents identified as Ghulam Rabbani and Zafar Iqbal, residents of Jamke Chattha, district Gujranwala, Adeel Abbas of village Ehal Sharif, district Gujrat and Juma Khan of Dougelian, district Mandi Bahauddin. The accused were involved in human smuggling through land route. Further investigation was under way.
