Finance Ministry to nominate focal person in FBR to assist overseas Pakistanis

LAHORE: On the request of Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC) Punjab, the Federal Ministry of Finance has decided to nominate a focal person at the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to assist overseas Pakistanis regarding tax matters. Decision to this effect was made during a meeting of Commissioner OPC Punjab, Afzal Bhatti with Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar in Islamabad.

The Commissioner OPC Punjab Afzal Bhatti apprised the Federal Minister of the issues being faced by overseas Pakistanis. He requested the minister to nominate a focal person at the FBR to help the overseas Pakistanis and their families for answering their queries related to tax matters. Federal Minister Finance Ishaq Dar agreed with the proposal and assured that the focal person will be nominated in the FBR without delay.

The federal minister also desired that if the commission or the overseas Pakistanis want to submit any proposal for the benefit of the overseas Pakistanis, they may submit it at the earliest so that it could be considered for the next budget.

Director General OPC Punjab Khawaja Dawood, Assistant Director Shabbir Ahmed Dogar and officials of Finance Division attended the meeting.
