Fluctuation continued in PSX till midday

KARACHI: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) Wednesday observed fluctuation in trading and gained just 9.50 points till midday to reach 33042.35 points level.

The stocks recorded the highest trading level of 33086.51 points and lowest level of 32924.69 points, with the volume of 124.35 million shares, having about Rs5 billion value. As many as 273 companies were active; of which 135 advanced, 127 declined and 11 remained unchanged.

Cement was the top traded sector with 16,381,800 volume, while commercial banks remained second with 11,594,700 volume.

The three top traded companies were BO Punjab with a volume of 12,164,500 and price per share of 8.65 (0.16), Sui South Gas with a volume 9,748,000 of price per share of 28.30 (0.56), Pace (Pak) Ltd with a volume 8,763,500 of price per share of 6.47 (0.25).

The top three gainers were Bhanero Tex with price per share 520.48 (24.78), Hinopak Motor with price per share of 1010 (10.06) and Jubile Life Ins price per share of 520 (10.00).

The top three losers were Atlas Battery with price per share of 595 (-25.68), Service Ind.Ltd with price per share of 850 (-19) and Abbott Lab per share of 636 (-12.98).

Earlier, the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) Wednesday started with positive note gaining 20.73 points to reach 33053.58 points level.

On Tuesday, the benchmark-100 index ended little unchanged, but managed to end positive for the 10th successive session. At close, the KSE-100 index rose 0.03% or 10.25 points to end at 33,032.85, finding resistance at the 33,000-point mark. Trading volumes rose to 216 million shares compared with Monday’s tally of 203 million. Shares of 354 companies were traded. At the end of the day, 138 stocks closed higher, 192 declined while 24 remained unchanged. The value of shares traded during the day was Rs11.4 billion.
