Food minister visits Sunday bazaars

LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Food Bilal Yasin Sunday said that process of holding Sunday bazaars regarding provision of quality of edible items to the people at cheaper rates had proved very successful.

Talking to consumers during his visit to Shadman, Wahdat Colony, Gulshan-e-Ravi and Model Town Sunday bazaars here, he said the government had always tried to improve the living standard of the common man.

He expressed satisfaction over the fact that due to government measures, daily use items were available in substantial amount at affordable rates in Sunday bazaars. He also reviewed the arrangements of security, parking, provision of potable water and seating arrangements for aged persons in the bazaars. He directed representatives of district administration to facilitate women, children and senior citizens in Sunday bazaars so that they could purchase edible items in a satisfactory manner.

The government has ensured sale of daily use items at fixed rates in these bazaars and its aim is to benefit consumers and discourage profiteers and hoarders.
