PESHAWAR: Unidentified militants shot dead four officials of Customs Department and injured two others in Kohat district, Police said on Wednesday. According to spokesman of Kohat Police, the officials of Customs Department were busy in routine checking of vehicles on Hangu-Kohat road on late Tuesday night when unidentified militants riding a car ambushed them in the limits of City Police station.
As a result, Customs Inspector Abdul Wahab, Constables Shamim Iqbal, Hafeez Shah and Driver Hidayatullah were killed on the spot while two civilians identified as Wahab son of Sharifullah and Hukam Khan son of Mosam Khan sustained critical bullet wounds. The injured were shifted to hospital. The killers escaped from the scene by taking advantage of darkness. Police have registered the case.
